We are a new community supported by the Anglican Church who care about the Town and want to bring people together who may not wish to join a church but who share a common concern for the enlightenment and care that Christian values can bring.
We meet every Thursday evening in the Upper room of St George’s Church Hall. We care about traditional Christian values of compassion, community, family, equality, and hospitality with a sense of fun.
Our meetings are designed so that people can come at 7.30 pm for prayer and praise or at 8.00 pm for coffee and homemade cake followed by a presentation and discussion. We finish at 9.30pm and some of us end the evening by going to our local friendly local pub - The Rose of England where Liz provides tasty sandwiches for us!
After coffee and cake we show talks, films, and documentaries on interesting subjects related to Christianity and ethical issues which are always followed by a discussion where everybody's view is respected.
Once a month we hold a more social evening. This might be an interesting film on local history, a supper, or an evening playing Pétanque at Charlotte Court our town square.
We also organise interesting visits which have a Christian theme.
We regularly hold Alpha courses at venues in the town centre for those wishing to explore Christianity further.
We are actively looking for new people to join us who share these common values and wish to make new friends.
If you would like to know more why not give us a ring on 01843596175.

This Thursday at 7.30pm we are showing the last part of Damien Mc Cullock's Documentary called 'God in the Dock.' The title is taken from C.S. Lewis’ book of the same name but Damien goes further than Lewis in challenging the very nature of a God who seems to stand back and allow so much violence, hatred, evil and suffering in the world
